Caroline Hinders will be speaking about the Genealogy Room at the Mercer County Public Library. We will meet at the Richardson-Bretz Building at 2:00 and then walk to the library. Plan to do a little research. The meeting will conclude properly at 4:00 p.m.

The Railroads of Mercer County Rail enthusiast and historian, Daniel Meckstroth will present the story of railroads in Mercer County and Celina At one time in the early 20th century, three railroads and one interurban line served Celina and Mercer County. The Lake Erie and Western, Cincinnati Northern, Cincinnati, Hamilton, and Dayton, and the Western Ohio Interurban served the transportation needs of residents. Learn how these lines were developed, how they served the citizens of the area and their eventual demise.

Judge Matthew Gilmore, Mercer County Probate/Juvenile Court Judge, Angie King, Mercer County Recorder, along with a representative from the Mercer County Health Department are the speakers of a professional round table. Each office will give a brief overview of their office and then we will open up for questions from our members and guests regarding research in these county offices.

Kip Wright will give a tour of the Courthouse and will be speaking on the plans regarding the 100-year celebration of the Courthouse that will be next year. All who wish to hear Kip, please meet on the north side of the Courthouse at 2:00 p.m.

Chapter Member Tom Heinrich will be showing the Chapter some old toys that he has collected over the years. It’s also First Family and Early Pioneer induction, as well as Officers induction.
