Hello, everyone!
My ggrandfather Joseph BERGER, Jr., wife Mary, son Anton (Anthony) and daughter Theresa immigrated to Celina from Bavaria, Germany in September, 1888. His father and mother, Joseph BERGER, Sr. and Theresa, and three other children followed in October 1888. Two children were born in Celina: William P. and Mary Anna. They all left for Indiana by 1893.
I would like to find information about where they might have lived for the short time in Celina. They were devout Roman Catholics, and were friends with the parish priest at Immaculate Conception. My guess is that they lived near the church. The 1890 census was heavily damaged by fire and thus no records exist for Mercer County.
The records that I have are the immigration passenger lists, baptismal records from IC, and Mercer County Probate record of naturalization for Joseph, Jr. in 1891. No documents list an address, although a birth record for William P. lists Jefferson Township.
Any ideas where I might find additional information? Thanks in advance if someone can point me in the right direction.
